Made of 99.9% pure copper with a food-safe tin lining, this is the cookware Ayurveda has relied on for 5,000 years. It warms up in moments, needs less oil, and never releases chemicals into what you cook.
Reconsider what you cook with
Toxins you can't see and short lifespans are built into most modern pans, which were never designed with your wellbeing in mind. Pure copper and tin have looked after cooks for more than 5,000 years.
Gives off PFAS “forever chemicals” tied to cancer and hormone disruption. Heat makes the coating break down and peel away.
Food sticks readily, heat spreads unevenly, and at high temperatures nickel and chromium can seep into meals.
Heavy and demanding. It requires ongoing seasoning, rusts with ease, and reacts to acidic ingredients.
The non-stick layer wears down and chips quickly, and a low-cost aluminum core often sits beneath it.
Acidic dishes make it leach into food, it dents easily, and it warps when heated. Not something that lasts.
Commonly blended with aluminum or ceramic coatings. True titanium is uncommon, expensive, and a weak heat conductor.
The cookware favored by emperors and Ayurveda. All metal, with no coatings and no toxins.
Meet Tamra 1856
Made by hand from certified pure copper and tin, the sole two metals Ayurveda and classic European chefs approve for everyday cooking, this is more than a cooking tool. It's a legacy.
It beats every modern pan on heating speed, safety, and taste, and it's naturally non-stick, free of toxins, and handsome enough to display on your wall.
Two-metal design
Pure copper outside delivers superior heat conductivity and genuine health benefits. Inside, a traditional tin lining gives a naturally non-stick, non-reactive surface, and there are no synthetic coatings that could ever flake.
When the tin finally wears thin, you just have it re-lined, so one pan can keep feeding your family for 100+ years.
Why cooking will win your heart again
Warms up to 20x faster than steel or cast iron and carries heat across the whole surface, with no hot spots and no lost time.
Genuine food-grade tin lets eggs glide off with no chemical coating needed.
Its naturally slick surface and quick heat transfer let you cook using very little oil, and the flavor stays intact.
Use it on gas, electric, or ceramic stovetops, or bake in the oven, and the pan performs flawlessly.
Cooking on pure copper contributes the vital trace minerals Ayurveda has valued for centuries.
Copper's ionic action destroys 99.9% of harmful bacteria upon contact, so the surface defends itself.
You get just one body
Each meal you prepare is a small investment in who you'll become ten, twenty, even fifty years from now. Picking a pure, toxin-free surface isn't driven by fear; it's a way of respecting your body the way our grandmothers did. Time-tested metal, with today's reassurance. This cookware looks after you in return.
The safest cooking surface you'll ever own
Pure copper with a traditional tin lining ranks among the oldest food-safe cooking surfaces in Ayurveda: non-reactive, naturally antibacterial, and free from synthetic coatings. Nothing chemical is there to wear off and end up in your meals.
Pure copper provides quick, even, responsive heat letting you cook on gentler heat with exact control, which helps preserve key nutrients and minerals.
Excellent heat control stops overheating, moisture loss, and loss of flavor, so every meal you serve is more nutritious, juicy, and flavorful.
Loved by mindful cooks
We switched once we learned what was lurking in our old non-stick. Tamra heats quickly, cleans in seconds, and looks stunning.

I'm saving both time and money. It heats evenly within seconds, my food tastes better, and it feels great knowing there are no chemicals involved.

I used to dodge the kitchen because cleaning up was awful. These days my kids eat home-cooked meals more often. Even eggs slide right off!

I like the pan, but the lid arrived bent and dented, so it won't sit flat against the rim.
Two black scuffs showed up on arrival and I assumed it was damaged, yet they polished right off. Strange that I never realized the interior is steel (??? Silver) when ordering, which surprised me. Haven't cooked in it yet. Washing with only lemon and salt feels like a hassle.
The lining blistered the very first time I used it, on medium heat with a Teflon spatula. The copper also took on a pink tint.
Good so far. Delivery was slow, though.
This pan finally got me to quit non-stick. I'd choose something lasting and free of toxins over replacing pans that slowly contaminate my meals.”
“Flaking coatings were always my main worry with non-stick. Here nothing can peel or leach out, since it's only copper and tin.”
Sure, it costs more, but I treat it as something to keep for a lifetime. You won't be tossing this pan in twelve months.
Hands down, the best thing I've bought for my kitchen.
Copper safety made me hesitate, but the certification and the tin lining put my mind at ease. Completely safe.
Since I switched, I use nearly half the oil I used to, and meals still taste wonderful.
Heat spreads evenly with no hot spots, and my omelets now turn out right every single time.
A great mix of old-world tradition and everyday usefulness.
Once I read up on PFAS, all my old Teflon pans went in the trash. This copper pan feels far safer, with no coating, no chemicals, only honest cooking.
I like knowing it's safe and free of toxins. I feel good making meals for my children in it.
Re-tinning concerned me at first, but if it holds up for years before it's necessary, that's fine by me.
I figured it was all marketing, but it truly is heirloom quality.
I make meals for my kids daily, and I feel better using this than a non-stick pan.
Upkeep had me worried, but it's honestly easy. A soft wash and it looks terrific.
Nicely built, good looking, and weighty. It's smaller than I'd hoped, though: 8 inches rather than 10.”
It took a bit of practice to cook at lower heat, but the food has come out great. Cleanup is simple and it looks gorgeous!
Chefs value copper for its exceptional heat conductivity, which means quicker, uniform cooking and tight temperature control. Compared with non-stick or aluminum cookware, ours is pure and uncoated, with no synthetic chemicals - so you get better results and healthier food.
Yes - if used the right way. The pan carries a protective tin lining (or is intended for safe use with certain foods), so it is food-safe and relied on by professional cooks around the globe. Don't cook highly acidic foods straight in unlined copper, as they could leach.
Many low-cost options are copper-plated or blended with other metals, which gives no true advantage and tends to flake off with use. Ours is crafted from solid, hand-made copper with a finish tuned for cooking - made to endure and give genuine copper performance.
You aren't merely getting a pan - you're taking back a wellness tool with 5,000 years of history, favored by chefs and healers alike.
Genuine copper + tin =
Cooking your health deserves, made to last for life rather than a single season.
Yes - over time copper develops a natural patina from contact with air, heat, and water. This is entirely normal and safe. Some people enjoy the aged look, while others polish it back to a gleam. Either way works - it's up to you!
When your pan is unlined, steer clear of acidic dishes such as tomatoes, vinegar-based sauces, or recipes heavy on citrus, since they can react with the copper. For best results, stay with searing, shallow frying, and light sauteing of non-acidic foods.
Yes! This copper pan performs well on gas and electric ranges. For induction, you might need a converter plate. Cook on medium or low heat - copper warms up fast, so you seldom need high heat.
Definitely. When looked after, a solid copper pan can serve you for a lifetime. Plenty of them turn into heirlooms handed down across generations. Performance only improves with age and seasoning.
This 9.5-inch copper pan is 9.25 inches across the rim, plus a 6.3-inch flat cooking base, and a depth of 1.75 inches. With the handle it stretches 15.9 inches in total and weighs only 2 lb, so it's light and comfortable to handle as you cook.
